NCAA take steps to allow college athletes to monetize their brand
The NCAA voted to start a process that would help college athletes to be paid as they will "benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness." The organisation, which governs 450,000 athletes at more than 1,200 schools nationwide, insisted their athletes will still be amateur despite this new opportunity about earning money while playing.
We know that the NCAA is now the most-powerful sport association as they dealt with some serious money opportunities from now on. For example, back in 2016, the NCAA and basketball TV partners, CBS and Turner have extended a contract for the diffusion of the March Madness through 2032 on an average 1.1 billion $ per year.
Let's see what the NCAA will decide in the future.
